About Amish Experience/ Amish Tours/ Magic Lantern Shows

SUPERSAVER & VIP TOUR PACKAGES INCLUDE FREE BUGGY RIDE VOUCHER thru November! Long Amish Country's most popular tour, the SuperSaver Package includes the four activities that best exemplify the Lancaster County Amish: The Amish Farmlands Tour, The Amish Experience F/X Theater and The Amish Country Homestead & One-Room School, and Buggy Ride through the countryside (thru November). Activity #1: AMISH FARMLANDS TOUR (Approx. 90 minutes) - Travel the scenic backroads with a certified guide on air-conditioned 14-passenger mini-shuttles. See everything from children playing outside an Amish one-room school, or a farmer working the fields with horses and mules, to Amish buggies heading for church or a wedding. Stops usually include an Amish farm or craft/bake shop (Amish businesses are closed Sunday). Learn about fascinating aspects of Amish life including weddings, funerals, shunning, cottage industries, farm practices, etc. Activity #2: AMISH EXPERIENCE THEATER (40 minutes, shows on the hour) - Witness "Jacob's Choice," and join him and the Fisher family's quest to discover what it means to be Amish in this emotional story of his struggle between family, faith, and community versus the allure of life in the outside world. You'll be moved and thrilled as you experience 400 years of Amish history through Disney-like effects, including wind, rain and fire, enhanced ghostly imagery, with five screens and four-dimensional sound. Activity #3: AMISH COUNTRY HOMESTEAD & SCHOOLROOM (45 minutes, tours hourly) - The only Amish house tour officially designated a Heritage Site by Lancaster County. Your guided tour of this 9-room house explains Amish dress and what life is like without electricity. We unravel some of the riddles of Amish life, such as why a bottled gas refrigerator may be used, but not an electric one. Included is the Fisher Amish schoolroom, furnished and decorated authentically with the guidance of an Amish schoolteacher. Activity #4: COOKIE RUN BUGGY RIDE (20-25 minutes) - Aaron & Jessica's three mile ride through the countryside to an Amish farm with a brief stop where cookies and drinks are available for purchase. Buggy rides for voucher holders depart at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm on property. This offer valid thru November.

BONUS: All adult SuperSaver ticket purchasers will receive an autographed cookbook of authentic Amish recipes signed by the Amish author. You will choose your Farmlands Tour time among the options of 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, or 4PM. You are free to decide upon arrival on the times you wish for the Homestead and the Theater. Some enjoy them before the Farmlands Tour, and some after. Allow approx. 3.5 hours for everything (excluding buggy ride), depending on your arrival and Farmlands Tour time chosen. Buggy Rides operate from 10AM - 4:30PM. (NOTE: Now that it gets dark earlier, if you plan to take the 2PM or 4PM Farmlands Tour, plan to arrive at 11:45AM so you have time to do the buggy ride, theater and homestead prior to your tour. Otherwise, you may then need to use your buggy ride voucher the following day.) If you wish, you can enjoy lunch in the middle of, or dinner following, your activities at the adjacent Plain & Fancy Farm Dining Room and will have the option to purchase meal vouchers when you book your tour online. You may also choose to split your SuperSaver activities over two days. Times & Prices Adults $42.95. Children (12 and under) $21.95. For the Farmlands Tour, all children (regardless of age) must purchase and occupy a seat, with car seat provided by you if the child is too small to wear a seat belt. This is Pennsylvania State law. Seating is limited to 14 people per tour. Click below and then select the day you desire to check availability. You will then be asked to select your Farmlands Tour time of 10AM, 12PM, 2PM or 4PM. (Individual tickets for the Farmlands Tour, "Jacob's Choice," and the Homestead are not available online. If you wish to purchase tickets for a Farmlands Tour ONLY, please call 717-768-8400, ext. 210 with Visa or MasterCard.) BUGGY RIDE VOUCHER thru November: You will receive your vouchers for the "Cookie Run" (approx. 20-25 minutes) when you pick up your tour tickets at the Amish Experience Theater Box Office. Buggy Rides operate from 10AM - 4:30PM. Vouchers may be used at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm during Aaron & Jessica's normal operating hours. (NOTE: On Sundays, we suggest arriving no later than 11:45AM to do the theater and house first, the 2:00PM farmlands tour, and the buggy ride at 4pm, or else use your voucher on Monday.) DECEMBER: Open Saturdays and the week before Christmas and New Year's. Closed Christmas Day. If you plan to do SuperSaver Package, arrive no later than 11:50pm. We close at 3:00pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. NOTE: TICKETS FOR 2016 WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE IN EARLY JANUARY.
